This combo was formed in 2003 by three friends: Ruben Lara (sax), Beau Sample (ex-Cave Catt Sammy on bass) and Wendy White. The idea was to create a jump blues band. The line-up was constantly changing and included at one time or another Aaron Prado (piano), John Doyle(tenor saxophone), Dave Biller (guitar), Shaun Young (drums).
They were influenced by Ruth Brown, Helen Humes, Dinah Washington, Louis Jordan, Big Mama Thornton, The Four Blazes and many others.
Wendy White and the Jet Propelled Papas disbanded in 2005.
