El Toro has had the good idea to ask At, a DJ from Netherland, to make this compilation. The result is a solid and versatile set of dancing numbers, some very well known and others a little bit more obscure. There's a majority of jump/rhythm'n'blues (Roy Brown, Lavern Baker, Jimmy Whitherspoon) mixed with jazz/big band numbers (Ella Fitzgerald, Tommy Dorsey), hillbilly boogie (Carl Smith), western swing, rockabilly (Mimi Roman) and some good ol' rock'n'roll thrown in for good measure (including a curious Bob Wills tunerecorded when he tried to catch the rock'n'roll wave). Hey, there's even a Pat Boone song !At knows his job and perfectly manages to build a "floor filler" with what could seem at first glance too eclectic. A collection that is sure to make you move your feet.

This second volume is more or less modeled upon the first, taking you with equal pleasure from Ella Fitzgerald to Roy Hall via Ray Price. The main difference is in the balance between jump/rhythm'n'blues and hillbilly/honky tonk/western swing/rockabilly artists, the later being more present than on volume one.
There's certain songs I wouldn't have included like Louis Prima's Just A Gigolo/I Ain't Got Nobody (ok it's a dancin' set but I bet you can find more obscure but dancin' tune in Prima's catalog!) or Pee Wee King's Sugar Beet, a "poppish" ditty that sounds like a commercial and doesn't make justice to this giant of western swing.
Anyway it's a good complement to volume one.
